Revisiting not so old art
Experimenting from my art school days. I think this was pastel on plaster on gesso board? The talo leaf always seems to continuously appear in my imagination every few years but I haven't done any serious art works based on this motiff. Niue Island has an arts fair next April. I will have to begin a series of work for the event. I'm thinking of my 'Fonua' [land] series that I had going at art school? It's time to focus on art after doing construction work for a year.

Since July 2015, I have been living on Niue Island. Most of my time was spent building a cafe for my sister at Hio, Tuapa and now its finished , I can resume making art. We used a 20ft shipping container which I bought for a thousand dollars from the local sawmill owner. I hope to build a small art studio along side the cafe next year. At present I'm painting using an easel on the cafe deck. The weather is a problem for my acrylics as it dries the paint too quickly. And when it rains, it leaves rain drop marks on the painting surface. Our roof partially covers the deck and there's a bar next to my painting area, which is great, I dont have to go far for a beer.
